Course Description
Explores the interaction between religious beliefs, stories, and practices with their societal and cultural contexts. Students will have an opportunity to learn methods of social analysis to better understand ethical problems of injustice and eco-crisis, with particular attention paid to the ways religion contributes to both liberation and oppression. Uses “the view from below” as a key to examine the role of religious institutions.
