Teaching as Inquiry and Advocacy

Course Description

Teaching encompasses a cyclical process of reflective practice, where educators pose questions, collect data, and make informed decisions about instruction. Formalizing this process in sustained inquiry allows educators to become advocates, speaking on behalf of their students to effect change locally and more globally. The purpose is to explore the process of practitioner inquiry and the role of teachers as advocates. Educators are provided with tools of inquiry and advocacy and the guidance to develop a proposal for completion of the master's thesis. Successful completion of this course is required to continue to the master's thesis.
