Explores key approaches to teaching mathematical, scientific and engineering concepts and skills in elementary classrooms. Teacher candidates will have the opportunity to acquire essential pedagogical content knowledge and skills through the study of research-based best practices. Course content focuses on bridging theory and practice and organizing classrooms to support numeracy and scientific inquiry. Candidates will become familiar with New Jersey Learning Standards and the spiraling of content across grades K-6.
