Course Description
Approaches the theory, practice and meaning of contemplative traditions to enrich contemplative care as a praxis of inquiry and leadership. Discusses and applies contemplative care to promote individual and community health and wellbeing in a variety of settings (e.g., clinics, hospitals, non-profit and for-profit organizations, schools, government agencies, secular, and spiritual communities). Explores the pitfalls and promises of contemplation as a praxis of inquiry & leadership, in and for institutional and community well-being. Connects contemplation with speech, writing, action and intention in institutional and community contexts, alerting us to consider what is beneficial and wise for the common good.
