Course Description

Introduces the theory and practice of silence, listening and contemplative care. Students have an opportunity to contemplate evidence- and practice-based publications on what it means to be attentive, responsive and listen with the heart and intellect. Cultivates care as a contemplative practice including silence as a presence, a creative experience that renews, restores and deepens the body’s response to the inner and outer world. Uncovers the subtle qualities of listening and silence from a phenomenological perspective by practicing with self-compassion.
