Course Description

An introduction to writing center theory and pedagogy with topics such as writing across the curriculum and the relationship between language/writing and culture, race, and ethnicity. We will focus on how to support and motivate writers as peers or near-peers throughout the writing process from brainstorming to editing. Time will also be dedicated to exploring the management of a writing center through scholarship on writing center administration. By the end of course, students will have the opportunity to develop their own methodology for writing center tutoring and administration.
